To discover this Summer: Rembrandt and McNicoll at the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec

Until September 2, 2024, the Rembrandt. Etchings from the Museum Boijmans van Beuningen exhibition is presenting 80 engravings of the great Dutch master that are normally exhibited in the Netherlands. Take advantage of preferential access to the engravings that established the artist’s reputation.

The masterpieces have survived the test of time and shaped art history. What is more, several works by Québec artists from the MNBAQ’s collections were added in order to round out the body of work. Inspired by Rembrandt’s practice and Dutch art in the Golden Age, they illustrate the specific use of chiaroscuro.

Enhance your visit with the bilingual audio guide and learn more about the artist and his engraving technique.

From June 20, 2024, to January 5, 2025, let 60 paintings by Helen McNicoll transport you. The Helen McNicoll. An Impressionist Journey exhibition explores the work of a painter little-known to the public whose relationship with the world and artistic output were influenced by the growth of tourism at the turn of the 20th century.
